The Liturgy Office of the Diocese of London serves all who celebrate the liturgy, that they might share in the primary and indispensable source of Christian life, and do so “fully aware of what they are doing, actively engaged in the rite and enriched by effects.” (SC, 11)

Rite of Election
The Rite of Election celebrates the Lord's choosing of men, women and children who, with the help of the Church, acknowledge God’s election of them for the Easter Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. The Rite of Election marks the beginning of the final period of intensive preparation prior to receiving the sacraments of initiation. For the last number of years, our diocesan family has been gathering on the First Sunday of Lent at The Cathedral, with the Bishop for this rite. It has been an event which has been formative in those who have come to know Jesus. It has been and event marked with joy for those who journey with them.
God willing, we will resume our practice in Lent of 2022.
Mass of Chrism
Due to the circumstances surrounding the coronavirus, the Mass of Chrism was celebrated by Bishop Fabbro at the Cathedral at 11:00 am. The Mass will be recorded and broadcast in some format.
In the the event of a continued lock-down :Episcopal Vicars will be responsible to provide containers suitable for the blessed oils for their own deanery. Oil will be blessed and consecrated as usual, with distribution to follow the Mass. These details to be decided at a later date. In the absence of priests, the Renewal of Priestly Vows will not take place.
In the event that we are open: Members of the faithful, including Religious and other laity, will be invited according to current protocols of the Cathedral. Episcopal Vicars will be invited to concelebrate, and each will provide containers suitable for the blessed oils for their own deanery. Oil will be blessed and consecrated as usual, with distribution to follow in the deaneries. These details to be decided at a later date.
Bishop Fabbro and priests from throughout the Diocese of London celebrate this annual Mass commemorating the founding of the priesthood by Christ. During Mass, special oils that all parishes in the Diocese will use to administer the Sacraments during the upcoming year will be consecrated.

Please find the video of the workshop at https://youtu.be/HbqMSfMxuU0.
Additionally, Dr. Ann Garrido will also be offering a public lecture as part of the Veritas Series for Faith and Culture, entitled “Telling Our Stories” on Thursday, Mar. 4, 2021 at 7:00 pm. A video link will be available at https://www.kings.uwo.ca/campus-ministry/veritas-series/.
