Dr. Robert Weaver to the ministerial priesthood. The Sacrament of Holy Orders will be celebrated by His Excellency Ronald Peter Fabbro, Bishop of London, on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 11:00am at St. Peter’s Cathedral Basilica, 196 Dufferin Ave., London, Ontario. All are welcome to attend. We assure Deacon Paul and Deacon Robert of our support and prayers, as they prepare for ordination.
Ordination Day Breakfast: Please click here for the event poster On Saturday, April 28th from 8:30 - 10 am we are inviting parish priests along with any interested young men, ages 14 and up, to join us for a pre-ordination breakfast and vocation talk. During the Ordination Day Breakfast, these young men and their parish priests gather for breakfast with Bishop Fabbro, Bishop Dabrowski and the seminarians. There will be a brief presentation by the Vocations Director, and the Bishop will explain the Rite of Ordination that he will celebrate, helping those invited understand what an ordination is. An ordination is a truly beautiful liturgy, one of the richest and most profound experiences we might witness. This is a great opportunity to invite senior altar servers, youth group leaders, and other young men in the parish to experience the priesthood in a very joyful atmosphere, and plant some seeds for future priestly vocations. To help facilitate transportation, the breakfast is open to parish priests, youth ministers and parents’ of discerners.
We will gather for the breakfast at St. Michael's Parish, 511 Cheapside St., London at 8:30am. The breakfast is provided by the Knights of Columbus. Please contact Fr. Patrick Bénéteau at
vocations@dol.ca by Tuesday, April 24 to reserve the amount of spaces that you require. Reserved seating for these young discerners will be available at the Cathedral for the Ordination Mass, following the breakfast.
