FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
We are worried we don't have the time to make this work.
Please contact Claire at cbondy@dol.ca or 519.4330658 x264 to discuss how we can adapt the program to suit your time constraints.
Who should participate?
All members of the parish staff that contribute to the wellbeing of the parish and have regular contact with parishioners and the rest of the staff. This could include the administrative staff, and custodians along with pastoral staff, priests and deacons.
Can the sessions be done during the evenings or on weekends?
The simple answer is yes! The majority of the sessions are 6 hours including a lunch break and can be broken into shorter sessions. This would work for evening sessions, if that works best for your team. Keep in mind, if you schedule an evening or weekend day, staff will need to be compensated with lieu time.
Can we do these sessions virtually?
It is not recommended that you complete these sessions virtually unless absolutely necessary. It is a better option to postpone your first session until the 'work from home' order is lifted.
Do we have to go to a remote location?
No, you can certainly do most of the sessions in your own space. There are times built into the schedules for personal reflection and times for prayer so please ensure that there is adequate space for these kinds of activities. What you want to avoid is using these times to go check emails or work on the bulletin.
Do we need to finish by June?
The short answer is no... but it is pretty important to do Sessions 5 & 6 which is actually a two-day team planning session that should be done on two consecutive days that will be a great benefit for your 2022-2023 planning, so it should be in the books by June or July. If you need to adjust things, it would be better to move the Retreat to the fall as a kick-off to the fall season.
