TITLE: Cemetery/Crematorium Sales Representative
PAY GRID: Schedule B – Compensation Package for Sales Consultants hired
on or after January 1, 2022
REPORTS TO: Office Manager
DIRECT REPORTS: None
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
To be the main communicator between the Catholic Cemetery and the visitors to the cemetery related to sales and service;
To counsel families during all at-need situations and to assist them in the selection of products and services, ensuring that the utmost care and respect is given to the family and the deceased;
To promote the concept of preneed arrangements in compliance with the current Cemetery Act through discussions with families visiting the cemetery, by sending out helpful information and materials and through making appropriate contacts through previous sales;
To complete the requirements of the position within an unstructured time frame, except for the fulfilling of all assigned duty time;
To actively promote to various cultural communities or other associations or groups the concept of preplanning together today;
Other duties as assigned by Management.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
To regularly report to the Office Manager on activities that will assist in the ongoing and special promotion of the Cemetery to members of the community;
To seek the support of the Office Manager on special product offerings to ensure every effort is made to conclude the sale;
To report activity schedules to the Office Manager as required;
To assist in the ongoing development of the cemetery in the planning of future capital improvements to the cemetery;
To assist in the ongoing development and evaluation of products and services and to assist in the determination of pricing for the products and services being offered for sale;
To undertake the assigned duty schedule as per the current practice as amended from time to time;
To effectively handle, on a timely basis, any service, complaint or customer enquiry from visitors as per approved policies and procedures;
To undertake sales and other corporate visitations at locations determined by the customer or community group and to provide one's own transportation for all cemetery related responsibilities as per current polices and procedures;
To complete, on a timely basis, all Cemetery reporting forms, processes and administration tasks assigned to the position;
To complete, on a timely basis, requests for family contact to assist in the collection of delinquent accounts;
To work as a team member to maximize the Cemetery’s service success and support to families in need to better the overall reputation of the Cemetery operation in our community;
To undertake other tasks as assigned by the Office Manager and relevant to the position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of a community college diploma or equivalent sales experience;
Three years experience in a related field involving sales in a computerized environment with direct contact with the public;
Demonstrated experience on computerized software programs involving Microsoft Office products and other data management software programs currently in use;
Ability to develop a complete program of service after the sale;
Good interpersonal and communication skills;
A valid Ontario drivers license;
It is a condition precedent to maintain the minimum requirements under the current regulations to hold a valid licence to sell cemetery products and services in the Province of Ontario;
Should the Provincial Regulations require additional training or courses to be taken, it is the responsibility of the Cemetery/Crematorium Sales Representative to complete those required sessions.
