Changing your Property Tax Assessment

Support Catholic Education

Catholics in the Diocese of London can direct their property taxes to support French or English Catholic education. 
 
We suggest you review your property tax assessment to check which board you are supporting. English public school boards are the default choice, and/or a mistake may have been made processing your paper work.

There are six Catholic school boards in the Diocese of London:

• Brant Haldimand Norfolk Roman Catholic District School Board 
• Conseil Scolaire Catholique Providence
• Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board 
• London District Catholic School Board
• St. Clair Catholic District School Board
• Windsor Essex Catholic District School Board

If you are not currently supporting Catholic education and you want to change that (and we would love it if you did), you can learn more by going to the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) webpage at this link, available in French and English.

NOTE: Only one school support designation is allowed for each household (e.g., a self-contained residential unit) and only Roman Catholics may support a Catholic school board. If only one owner or tenant qualifies, you must also complete a Separate School Lease Agreement. You can get one of these forms by contacting your school board using the links above.

If you do not need the Lease Agreement (i.e. both owners/tenants or the sole owner/tenant are Roman Catholic(s)) follow the instructions below to complete the process. 

Helpful Instructions

• Print and complete the first page of the "Application for Direction of School Support" form available at this link (PDF)
  • If you do not have a scanner, print and complete and sign the first page and mail it to the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation, 1340 Pickering Pkwy., Suite 101, Pickering ON  L1V 0C4.
• Scan the form into your computer and note the location of the file, or take a picture with your phone
• Go to the MPAC "Contact Us" page at this link
• Scroll down to Email  
• Click "Online Form"  
• Fill out the required fields (you may need to have a copy of your most recent assessment handy for some of the information)
• When you get to the section "My Question(s)", click the down arrow 
• Scroll down to "Update School Support Information" and select it
• Below that you will need to add the scan/photo of your Application for Direction of School Support in the "Supporting Documentation" 
• Click Browse and browse to the location where you saved the scan/photo of your application  
• Click on the file and your file will be identified just below the Browse button.  
• Complete any other required information and the "reCAPTCHA" and click "Submit"
