Position: Part-time Cook/Housekeeper Work Location: All Saints Rectory, Strathroy, ON - West Middlesex Catholic Family of Parishes Commitment: 15 hours per week Posting Date: September 16, 2024 Closing Date: September 27, 2024
POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Office Administrator, the Cook/Housekeeper assists in meal preparation, completes personal and household laundry and general household cleaning of the parish rectory.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Completes laundry (wash, dry, hand wash, iron, fold) clothing and household linens.
Changes bedding.
Prepares meals. Maintains a clean kitchen before, during and after food preparation. Ensures that all food is properly stored and prepared in a safe and hygienic manner.
Provides other general cleaning when required.
Works in a manner consistent with the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and is accountable for the timely reporting of any safety concerns to the Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of a grade 12 secondary school diploma or equivalent in Ontario.
Familiarity with housekeeping and laundry functions in a residential setting.
Food handling certificate an asset.
Proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
Highly organized and self-motivated.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
The tasks within the position will include the following physical demands: bending, squatting, reaching, standing, walking, stair climbing, above shoulder activity and pushing and pulling.
A police record check as deemed suitable by the Diocese of London will be required of the successful candidate.
