Deacon Dennis Rivest – Director of Permanent Deacons
It is my pleasure to announce the appointment of Deacon Dennis Rivest to the position of Director of Permanent Deacons effective 12 March 2018.
Deacon Dennis began his formation to become a permanent deacon in 2008, and was ordained in 2013. Over the last six years, he has been assigned to St. George’s Parish in London. He assists as a weekend facilitator for the Permanent Diaconate Formation and Study Program, and is part of the admissions committee as well the discernment and evaluation team for the Program. In addition, Deacon Dennis is a member of the Safe Environment Advisory Committee, the National Association of Diaconal Directors, and the Ontario Catholic Association of Diaconal Leaders. He is, as well, a member of the Knights of Columbus.
In his new role as Director of Permanent Deacons, Deacon Dennis will work in collaboration with, and on behalf of, Bishop Dabrowski and me. He will direct the administration, ongoing formation, and pastoral care of ordained deacons in the Diocese. He will also serve as a member of the Personnel Team of the Diocese and as a member of the Priest Personnel Board.
