Cathedral Notre Dame de Paris Fire
As you may already know, the Cathedral Notre-Dame de Paris was engulfed in flames today in Paris, France.  Immediately below is a statement on behalf of the Diocese of London:
 
Like millions of people around the world, we are watching with horror as photos and live video stream in from Paris France.  The Cathedral of Notre Dame de Paris is one of the most beautiful and significant buildings on earth, as well as one of the most famous churches of all time.  The scope of loss is beyond comprehension.  We pray for the safety of the first responders and for the people of Paris, as the fire rages in the heart of their city.  Our hearts and minds are with the members of the faith-community.  During this dark hour, only days away from Good Friday and Easter, we are reminded that pain and destruction, in time, will be replaced by love and hope.
