COVID-19 Update from Bishop Fabbro (Update #28)

Pastors have been asking how the distribution of ashes should be done in light of previous restrictions related to COVID-19. After consulting the members of the Episcopal Council, I direct that ashes may be imposed on the forehead of the Faithful, once again as in pre-pandemic times. The only restriction is that those who impose ashes must wear a mask.

My intention in issuing this directive now is to facilitate planning for celebrations in churches, schools or homes.

As we come to the conclusion of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, Bishop Dabrowski and I join with you in prayer. May we continue to strive with Christians of all denominations to be one as Christ desires.
