There will be an inter-faith vigil and prayers in response to the Easter Sunday terror attacks in Sri Lanka tomorrow evening at 6:30 pm at St. Aidan's Anglican Church in London, 1246 Oxford Street West in London, Ontario. Bishop Joseph Dabrowski will attend and bring greetings on behalf of the Diocese of London.
In case you missed it, here is the text of Bishop Fabbro's statement on Easter Sunday:
Along with the rest of the world, I learned this morning of the shocking and cruel terror attacks in Sri Lanka. Easter Sunday is our most holy day, a joyful day that has turned to tears for the innocents who have been injured and killed. These deliberate assaults were not just against our brothers and sisters but on everyone who values life, love, and peace. Together with Pope Francis, and on behalf of the faithful of the Diocese of London, I condemn these acts of hatred and express our sorrow for the victims and their families.
These attacks were made on Easter Sunday, the day we proclaim Christ’s victory over death and sin. Let us join in prayer with all believers and people of good will, asking God to deliver us from every evil. May God grant peace in our days, and may we redouble our efforts to live out Christ’s commandment to love one another as He loved us.
