Pastoral Appointments and Changes (September 2020)

Bishop Fabbro announces the following pastoral appointments which will be effective on September 1, 2020.

Newly Ordained 

Rev. Steven Eckert ordained August 15, 2020, has been appointed Associate Pastor of the West Middlesex Catholic Family of Parishes.

Rev. Robert Renaud ordained August 15, 2020, has been appointed Parochial Vicar of
Ste Anne, Tecumseh, Good Shepherd, Lakeshore and Paroisse St-Jérôme, Windsor.

Rev. Porfirio (Phil) R. P. Guimaraes ordained August 15, 2020, has been appointed Parochial Vicar of Ste Anne, Tecumseh, Good Shepherd, Lakeshore and Paroisse St-Jérôme, Windsor.

Episcopal Vicars

Rev. Eugene Roy, in addition to his role as Director of Priest Personnel, has been appointed Episcopal Vicar for the London Deanery.

Rev. Chris Gillespie, in addition to his role as Pastor of the Kent Lambton Roman Catholic Family of Parishes, has been appointed Episcopal Vicar for the Kent Deanery.

Families of Parishes

Rev. Seejo John has been appointed Pastor of Central Essex County Family of Parishes. Rev. Paul Kim has been appointed Associate Pastor.

Rev. Matthew Kucharski has been appointed Pastor of Amherstburg-Harrow Catholic Family of Parishes.

Rev. Philip Joseph has been appointed Pastor of Perth Huron Crossroads Catholic Family of Parishes.  Rev. Ronnie Tagnines has been appointed Associate Pastor.

Rev. Antoine (Tony) Laforet has been appointed Pastor of the Lake Huron Catholic Family of Parishes. Rev. Matthew George and Rev. Vince Gulikers have been appointed Associate Pastors.

Rev. Benjamin Huyge has been appointed Pastor of the Erie Tri-County Family of Parishes. Rev. Thomas Kuriacko, C.S.T. has been appointed Associate Pastor.

Rev. Thomas Blondin has been appointed Pastor of the West Middlesex Catholic Family of Parishes. Rev. David Johnston has been appointed Associate Pastor. An additional Associate Pastor is still to be named to this Family.

Rev. Maurice Restivo, C.S.B. has been appointed Pastor of the Windsor Heritage Catholic Family of Parishes. Rev. Steven Huber, C.S.B. and Rev. Christian Amogu have been appointed Associate Pastors.

Rev. Mario Cabal, S.J. has been appointed Associate Pastor of North Central Windsor Catholic Family of Parishes, as well as Priest-Chaplain to San Juan Diego Spanish Catholic Community at Our Lady of Guadalupe, Windsor.

Rev. Olivet Okoro has been appointed Associate Pastor of the Chatham Catholic Family of Parishes.

Rev. Robert Weaver has been appointed Associate Pastor of the Catholic Family of Parishes in Norfolk.

Rev. Stanislaw Izdebski has been appointed Priest-in-Residence of the Chatham Catholic Family of Parishes. He will remain in Chatham as he prepares for ministry in the Diocese of London.

Michaelite Fathers

Rev. Zbigniew Rodzinka, C.S.M.A., is being reassigned by his community to Christ the King Parish in Etobicoke, Ontario, effective August 31, 2020.

Rev. Jan Burczyk, C.S.M.A. has been appointed Priest-Chaplain of Queen of Peace Catholic Community, Sarnia.

Priests Retiring

Rev. James Roche, currently Pastor of Corpus Christi, Windsor, will be retiring in September 2020.

Rev. Michael Michon, currently Parish Administrator of Paroisse St-Jérôme, Windsor, will be retiring in September 2020.

Rev. Keith Morrison, currently Pastor of St. Joseph, Listowel, Sacred Heart, Wingham and St. Ambrose, Brussels, will be retiring in October 2020.

Pastoral Appointments and Changes

Rev. Vargees Devas has been reappointed Administrator of Spiritual Affairs of St. Joseph, Listowel, Sacred Heart, Wingham and St. Ambrose, Brussels.

Deacon Wayne Waechter has been reappointed Administrator of Temporal Affairs of St. Joseph, Listowel, Sacred Heart, Wingham and St. Ambrose, Brussels.

Rev. John Pirt has been appointed Parish Administrator of Corpus Christi, Windsor.

Rev. Mukucha Kathemo has been appointed Parish Administrator of Visitation Parish, Comber.

Rev. Jose Montepeque, retired priest from the Archdiocese of St. Boniface, Manitoba, has been appointed Parish Administrator of St-Thomas d’Aquin, Sarnia.

Rev. Peter Amszej has been appointed Parochial Vicar of St. Peter Cathedral Basilica, London.

Rev. Patrick Beneteau, in addition to his current assignment as Parish Administrator of Ste Anne, Tecumseh and Good Shepherd, Lakeshore, has been named Parish Administrator of Paroisse St-Jérôme, Windsor. 

Designated Ministries

Rev. Gary Ducharme has been appointed to the Faculty of St. Peter’s Seminary, as well as his appointment as Priest-Chaplain to the Diaconate Formation Program.

Rev. Jason Kuntz, from the Diocese of Hamilton, has been appointed to the Faculty of St. Peter’s Seminary.

Rev. Thomas Janisse, currently on health leave, has been assigned to specialized ministry as needed.

Rev. Benjamin Raze has been appointed to full-time Priest-Chaplain Hospital Ministry, Windsor.

Reassignments

Rev. Vincent Gennardo C.S., will be returning to his Religious Community, the Scalabrini Fathers.

Rev. Adriano Barbieri C.S., will be returning to his Religious Community, the Scalabrini Fathers.
