Pastoral Appointments and Changes Announced

Bishop Fabbro announced the following pastoral appointment and changes on December 20, 2017:

Rev. Gerry Campeau has been appointed Parish Administrator of the clustered parishes of St. Mary, Maidstone and St. John the Evangelist, Woodslee, effective November 1, 2017.

On the 14^th of December, 2017, Fr. Jose Lopez, FMM, the local Superior of the Fraternidad Misionera de Maria informed me that Fr. Hugo Santa Cruz, FMM, has been reassigned to Montreal, Quebec, and that Fr. Eduardo Barrera was returning to Guatemala. Both of these moves have taken place. We are grateful for the ministry Fr. Hugo and Fr. Eduardo gave to the faithful of the diocese, especially to the migrant workers in Essex county.

Bishop Fabbro announced the following pastoral appointments and changes effective November 1, 2017

I have accepted the letter of retirement from Rev. Dennis Wilhelm, Pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Windsor, for reasons of health, effective October 28, 2017. During 30 years in ministry, he has served parishes across the diocese and has been a well-loved and faithful pastor. In spite of Fr. Dennis’ health concerns, he has worked hard to serve his people.

Rev. Greg Bonin, has been appointed Parish Administrator of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Windsor, effective October 29, 2017, in addition to his current assignments as Pastor of Most Precious Blood, Windsor and Parish Administrator of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Parish, Windsor.

Rev. Charles Akinloye, has been appointed Parochial Vicar of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Windsor and of Most Precious Blood, Windsor,effective November 1, 2017.

I thank the members of the Priest Personnel Board and offer our prayers and support to our priests, parish teams and parish families who will be affected by these pastoral changes. May God continue to bless our ministry to the people of our Diocese.

Pastoral Appointments and Changes July 2017

Rev. James Higgins, currently Parish Administrator of the clustered parishes of Blessed Sacrament and St. Agnes, Chatham has been appointed Pastor of the Pioneer Family of Parishes of St. Ursula, St. Joseph, Blessed Sacrament, St. Agnes and Our Lady of Victory Polish Catholic Community, Chatham. The Pioneer Family will be established on January 1, 2018. Fr. Higgins’ appointment as Pastor takes effect on July 4, 2017. Rev. Bogdan Molenda, S.Chr., and Rev. Donald Pumputis are appointed to the Pioneer Family.

Rev. Alan Dufraimont, E.V., currently Parish Administrator of the clustered parishes of Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs, Delhi and St. Bernard of Clairvaux, Waterford and of the clustered parishes of St. Cecilia, Port Dover and St. Mary, Simcoe, has been appointed Pastor of the Pioneer Family of Parishes of Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs, Delhi, St. Casimir, Delhi, St. Bernard of Clairvaux, Waterford, St. Mary, Simcoe and St. Cecilia, Port Dover. The Pioneer Family will be established on January 1, 2018. Fr. Dufraimont’s appointment as Pastor takes effect on July 4, 2017. Rev. Lucio Couto and Msgr. John Staskevicius are appointed to the Pioneer Family.

Rev. Clare Coleman, currently Parish Administrator of the clustered parishes of St. Patrick, Kinkora and St. Vincent de Paul, Mitchell and the clustered parishes of St. Patrick, Dublin and St. James, Seaforth, has been appointed Parish Administrator of the clustered parishes of St. Patrick, Dublin and St. James, Seaforth.

Rev. Thomas Blondin, currently Pastor of Sacred Heart, LaSalle, has been appointed Parish Administrator of All Saints, Strathroy.

Rev. Matthew Kucharski, currently Pastor of St. Joseph and St. Ursula, Chatham, has been appointed Parish Administrator of Sacred Heart, LaSalle.

Rev. Benjamin Raze, currently Parish Administrator of Mary Immaculate, London, has been appointed Parish Administrator of the clustered parishes of St. Patrick, Kinkora and St. Vincent de Paul, Mitchell.

Rev. Christopher Bourdeau, currently Parochial Vicar of Good Shepherd Parish, Emeryville, has been appointed Parish Administrator of the clustered parishes of St. Francis Xavier and St. Peter, Tilbury.

Rev. Ronaldo Tagnines, from the Diocese of Daet in the Philippines, has been appointed Parish Administrator of St. Peter, Goderich. Rev. Tagnines will arrive in the diocese in May and will assist Rev. Gary Ducharme until July 3, 2017.

Rev. Augustine Ogundele, from the Diocese of Osogbo in Nigeria, has been appointed Parish Administrator of Mary Immaculate, London. Father Ogundele will arrive in the diocese in May and assist in the Sarnia deanery until July 3, 2017.

Rev. Dariusz Jagodzinski, currently Associate Pastor of St. Anne, Tecumseh, has been appointed Priest-Chaplain of Holy Cross Polish Catholic Community, Woodstock, half-time, and Parochial Vicar of Holy Trinity, Woodstock, half-time.

Rev. Gary Ducharme, currently Pastor of St. Peter, Goderich, has been appointed Parochial Vicar of St. Peter’s Cathedral Basilica, London.

Rev. Donato Lwiyando, S.X., currently Associate Pastor of St. John the Baptist, Amherstburg, has been appointed Parochial Vicar of Good Shepherd, Emeryville.

Rev. Stephen Marsh, currently Parochial Vicar of the clustered parishes of St. Benedict and Our Lady of Mercy, including St. Joseph Church, Sarnia, has been appointed Parochial Vicar of St. John the Baptist, Amherstburg.

Rev. Donald Pumputis, currently Parochial Vicar of St. Michael, London, has been appointed Associate Pastor of the parishes of St. Ursula, St. Joseph, Blessed Sacrament, St. Agnes and Our Lady of Victory Polish Catholic Community, Chatham.

Rev. Hugo Santa Cruz, F.M.M., currently Parochial Vicar of St. Michael, Leamington and Priest-Chaplain to Migrant Workers, has been appointed Parochial Vicar of St. Anne, Tecumseh.

Rev. Mateusz Sobierajski, C.S.M.A., currently Associate Pastor of St. Teresa in the Archdiocese of Toronto, has been appointed Parochial Vicar of the clustered parishes of St. Benedict and Our Lady of Mercy, including St. Joseph Church, Sarnia.

Rev. Glen Ball, ordained May 13, 2017, has been appointed Parochial Vicar of St. Michael, London.

Rev. Charles Akinloye, currently Parochial Vicar of Holy Trinity, Woodstock, will reside at Mary Immaculate, London while completing his studies.

Rev. Peter Amszej, currently Pastor of the clustered parishes St. Francis Xavier and St. Peter, Tilbury has been granted a six month leave of absence.

Rev. Henryk Chibowski, currently Priest-Chaplain of Holy Cross Polish Catholic Community, Woodstock, half-time, and Parochial Vicar of Holy Trinity, Woodstock, half-time, is returning to Poland at the request of his bishop.

Rev. Jan Burczyk, C.S.M.A., currently Parochial Vicar of St. Mary Parish, London and Parochial Vicar of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish, London has been reassigned by his community to St. Teresa in the Archdiocese of Toronto.

Rev. Alfredo Pereira, O.C.D., currently Associate Pastor of St. Peter’s Cathedral Basilica, London, has been reassigned by his community.

Mr. Robert Renaud has been assigned to the parishes of St. Ursula, St. Joseph, Blessed Sacrament, St. Agnes and Our Lady of Victory Polish Catholic Community, Chatham, under the supervision of Rev. James Higgins, effective August 1, 2017.
