Congratulations to the team at the Diocesan Refugee Office who were awarded the YMCA Peace Medal. The Peace Medal is given to community individuals/groups who demonstrate a commitment to the values of peace through contributions made within their local, national or global community. Congratulations Gilbert, Claire, Auday, Kolleen and the volunteers of the Refugee Office. Thanks to the YMCA for honouring the team and for hosting the Peace Breakfast. Special thanks to Sarah Voegeli for nominating the team. Sarah is a law student (University of Windsor) working for the YMCA, with a placement at the Refugee Office under Claire’s direction.

The Beatification of Father Solanus Casey will be decreed in an Apostolic letter during a Mass that will be held at Ford Field on Saturday, November 18, 2017, 4:00 p.m., EST. Father Solanus Casey is only the second American-born male to be beatified by the Catholic Church, the final step before canonization, or sainthood.
