Position: Full-time Cemetery/Crematorium Sales Consultant Work Location: Heavenly Rest Cemetery, 5005 Howard Ave., LaSalle, Ontario Commitment: Base hours 37.5 hours per week; flexibility in scheduling including working Saturdays is required. Compensation: As per Service Employees International Union collective agreement - Schedule B – Compensation Package for Sales Consultants hired on or after January 1, 2022. POSITION SUMMARY
This unionized position requires a sales-oriented individual with excellent customer service skills to provide compassionate support to grieving families during at-need situations, as well as promote pre-need cemetery arrangements while adhering to all relevant legislation.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Provide guidance and support to families during end-of-life situations, assisting them in selecting appropriate cemetery and memorial services.
Promote pre-arranged cemetery plans through outreach, presentations, and client contact.
Engage with diverse communities to promote pre-planning.
Complete all reporting and administrative tasks required for sales on a timely basis.
Represent the Cemetery at services and conduct community outreach.
Assist with follow up on delinquent accounts.
Respond and appropriately address any service, customer enquiry and/or concern from visitors, families and/or service providers as per approved policies and procedures.
Collaborate with colleagues to enhance cemetery services, support families and provide exceptional customer experiences.
Work in a manner to ensure continued professional contributions to the positive reputation of the Heavenly Rest Family of Catholic Cemeteries.
Perform other duties of a similar nature as assigned by the General Manager (or designate).
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of a post secondary diploma or degree in an applicable field and/or equivalent face-to-face professional sales experience.
Minimum of 3 years experience in a related field involving sales in a computerized environment with direct contact with the public.
Prior experience providing excellent customer service, both in person and over the telephone.
Collaborative, supportive, flexible team player with a high degree of self-initiative.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of highly sensitive materials.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
Resourceful self-starter with thorough attention to detail with a desire to produce quality results.
Proven ability to properly and effectively prioritize and multi-task in an effective and efficient manner.
Proficient in direct use of the latest versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.
Prior experience using database management systems along with the ability to create reports and present data in an understandable manner.
Friendly, hospitable, and professional representative of the Diocese of London at all times.
An understanding of and desire to support and promote the mission of the Diocese of London Cemeteries.
Valid Ontario driver’s license and an acceptable driving abstract.
Able and willing to work weekends and/or evenings, as required.
Successful completion of all required training and licensing as mandated by the Bereavement Authority of Ontario will be required.
A police record check as deemed suitable by the Diocese of London will be required of the successful candidate.
