The Certificate in Youth Ministry is an educational program of personal, spiritual, and ministerial growth for those who desire to serve in ministry with young people, primarily in parish and school settings. Prospective students may include coordinators of ministry with youth, young adults, and families; volunteers; high school chaplaincy team members; clergy; religious; university students; and seminarians.
The Certificate in Youth Ministry program available in the Diocese of London is facilitated in partnership with the Catechetical Institute at the Franciscan University of Steubenville. This was predominantly an online program for the past few years, however, moving forward we will be hosting 4 in-person sessions spread throughout the year. Students will complete at least 2 courses per session. Moving to in-person will help in networking and practical skills development. Assignments will be added that students will have to complete within a certain time period. The course consists of 19 core workshops plus 5 electives, completed over a two year period. Some of the Core Courses & electives will be completed online.
Those who desire to participate in workshops without pursuing a Certificate in Youth Ministry are encouraged to contact Christine Coyle at ccoyle@dol.ca.
